The Inspiration
The Tetra Collection emerged as a self-initiated project driven by the desire to translate the visual geometry and spatial intricacies of 90s puzzle video games into a unique lighting collection. Puzzle video games play a pivotal role in shaping problem-solving skills, fostering creativity, and honing the ability to observe how parts fit together, and perseverance in the face of complexity. Drawing upon these unique challenges, DUNN embarked on a passion project merging their devotion to material exploration and their fascination with the interplay between light, volumes, patterns, and negative space. The result is the Tetra collection, a series of light fixtures that offer a nostalgic nod to puzzle video games while radiating contemporary elegance.
How It's Made
Crafted with a meticulous eye for detail, these lighting pieces stand as timeless statements. Their allure lies not only in their aesthetic appeal but also in the thoughtful selection of materials. The pieces mix metals such as brass or nickel with powder coated aluminum to create pieces that exude a unique character, adding depth and dimension to their surroundings.
Each fixture is skillfully designed and handcrafted by DUNN’s dedicated team in their Rhode Island studio. Here, passion meets precision as skilled hands bring sketches to life, ensuring that every detail is perfected in the final product, embodying the spirit of the collection.
